Just a thought from an East end resident

The commonwealth games, 7 years in the planning.

The demolition of countless residential dwellings and commercial properties including a category B listed building known as London road primary school.

The construction of an indoor arena and velodrome, some 700 future homes and a residential centre for the elderly in the form of a legacy all at a cost of well over half a billion pounds.

Yet from the London road entrance of the arena/velodrome the attached image is what decimates Glasgows skyline.

Two 90 metre high 30 story tower blocks locally know as twin towers and now derelict slums.

A cynic might ask if the land was worth any resale value would the flats still be there?
